Reuters reports a man "carrying a dummy grenade and a knife" as well as a pistol was arrested immediately after firing shots at the Cannes Film Festival. No injuries are being reported.

The shots were fired in the middle of an interview with Austrian actor Christoph Waltz as the French TV station Canal+ kept the cameras rolling.

Police told Reuters that it was probably just "some crazy guy" who was not connected to the million dollar jewelry heist from earlier today which, in turn, was not connected to Sofia Coppola.

The adoptive parents of an 8-year-old child who received sex-assignment surgery as an infant, are suing the state of South Carolina for allowing doctors to perform the unnecessary and potentially harmful surgery that was intended to "make the child a girl."

The child, identified by The Advocate as M.C., was born intersex (as some children are), or with sexual organs that do not fit squarely into the categorization of male or female. At birth, doctors decided M.C. was male because of the presence of a phallus. Later, however, doctors were like "Just kidding!" and decided M.C. was actually a girl. They strongly suggested that the now 16-month-old M.C., who had been born into the care of the state of South Carolina, should be returned to the hospital so that doctors could white-out the "M" in the box marked "sex" on the birth certificate, and also perform the highly-invasive surgery to remove the penis. This despite the fact that intersex surgery is no longer considered an appropriate medical practice by any means.

M.C.'s parents, Mark and Pam Crawford, adopted the child shortly after the surgery and are now suing the State as well as the hospital and other caregivers for damages.

The lawsuit—which is to be the first of its kind according to WYFF 4—alleges that doctors were not forthcoming with information involving the risks of the surgery, stating that "there was no compelling reason that [the child] should either be made male or female."

The Crawfords believe M.C. was subjected to "dangerous and mutilating surgery" for the purpose of "conforming to society." Meanwhile, they said, M.C. has been identifying himself as a boy.

After a press conference this morning, assembled to address the crisis in Syria, the status of the federal budget cuts and the continuing Boston bomber investigation, President Obama returned to the podium to answer an encore question about Jason Collins coming out. A fan of both basketball and the gays, the president responded:

For an individual who has excelled at the highest level to go ahead and say "This is who I am. I'm proud of it. I'm still a great competitor. I'm still seven-foot tall and can bang with Shaq. And, uh, you know, deliver a hard foul.

Well said, Mr. President.

That we do, but how much don't we know? According to Weiner himself that could be a whole lot or a whole little. The details don't really matter. What matters is that there are still some unseen or unread Weiner sexts out there. But please God let's hope they stay that way.

This is what has been happening on cable news for the past few hours: After insisting that they had confirmation from two separate sources that an arrest had been made in the marathon bombing, and while ignoring reports from nearly every other source that said otherwise, CNN was forced to admit that there were then three sources telling them that no arrest had been made and just recently changed their report status to "conflicted." Meanwhile, there were several different descriptions of the "suspect" that was never identified in the first place in is not at all in custody but might be for all we know.

"Anytime bombs are used to terrorize innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," President Obama clarified, citing a definition of terrorism. Now that that's cleared up, we can talk about the fact that we still know nothing about the bombing. The President went on to say:

What we don't yet know, however, is who carried out this attack or why, whether it was planned and executed by a terrorist organization (foreign or domestic), or whether it was the act of a malevolent individual. That's what we don't yet know and clearly we're in the beginning of our investigation. We will take time to follow every lead and determine what happened.

Both Fox News and CNN, however, stopped listening after the word "terrorism."

President Obama held a no-nonsense press conference moments ago where he promised to bring any responsible parties to justice, but clarified that they had no information yet on who those responsible parties might be. He expressed sympathy for the victims, stating that he and Michelle are sending their "deepest thought and prayers to the families of the victims," and assured us that Boston would have every single federal resource available to them. If only it didn't seem as if the President had addressed the nation in a time of tragedy far too many times in recent history.

Oh, and apparently he forgot a word.

After one blast went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon this afternoon, people—reporters and spectators—grabbed their cameras only to witness a second blast in nearly the same location. One of the first videos from the finish line (above) shows many runners collapsing from the trauma of the blast. Below, victims are shown being wheeled away from the scene.

Working off of this column in the New York Post that suggests we should make members of congress take IQ tests—tests which, according to this guy, will quiz people on their knowledge of guns— the gang over at Fox and Friends all chimed in to support the notion. "Nobody'd be in congress!" Steve Doocey says to no one before chuckling at his own joke. Gretchen Carlson, meanwhile, was already busy thinking about the next step: when are they going to mandate IQ tests for the people that make the IQ tests for congress? "Nobody'd be left in the world!" Steve Doocey notices.

Today Facebook announced their new "not a Facebook phone"-Facebook-phone "Facebook Home" which is basically a phone where all you can do is look at Facebook. "This is a phone," announced a sweaty, mumbly Mark Zukerberg, "that is centered around people not apps." By which he actually means: "this is a phone which enables you to treat your human friends like aps."

"When you're done with them, just tap their face and throw them away." If only.

Patricia Brennan, tthe scientist who conducted the study on duck penises that ruffled the conservative media's feathers earlier this week, has finally come forward to tell everyone to stop freaking out about her scientific research. Duck dicks are important, she says, and Fox News just doesn't "get" science. She goes on to say some science-y things about ducks and their penises and then shares with us the real reason for her research: DUCK PENISES ARE FUCKING NUTS.

Well, they did say that sooner or later God (of The Great Flood fame) would come to punish the world for the sins of the gays (marriage in particular), but who knew He would be so damn boring about it? Hours ago, CNN contributor Jeffery Toobin was lightly tapped by a possessed umbrella while proclaiming that "DOMA" may be "in trouble."

Asked to comment, God said he thought about another flood or maybe a couple of plagues but he "didn't want to be that big of a troll." Fair enough.

Why were Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb wearing full-body dog suits on television this morning? Why were they begging for Facebook "likes"? Why are morning shows still on the air? I don't know. But I do know we are asking all the wrong questions. The real question is: what does "liking" Kathie Lee and Hoda on Facebook say about you, Internet?

It's only 25 days until the 24,000 of you who applied to Princeton University will receive a letter on Princeton letterhead regretfully informing you that your application does not meet the University's standards, a thanks-for-playing certificate. But you know who else was rejected by the No. 2 school in the country? No. 1 in America's hearts Tina Fey. She told Kelly and Michael:

My mom had had this dream ever since I was a baby, for some reason she wanted me to apply to go to Princeton. I was a good student, but I didn't have any of that private school polish. I went in there and I was like "hi what's up?" and they were just like "No, no..."

If Princeton wasn't good enough for Tina Fey, it definitely isn't good enough for YOU. Plus, I'm sure Yale won't be *that* bad.

At this point there's no question that Seth MacFarlane was a terrible Oscar host. Not only were his jokes unfunny, tired, self-centered and boring, but also incredibly sexist, homophobic and racist. Boob jokes. Diet jokes. "No homo" jokes. Rape jokes. Abuse jokes. Slave jokes. Jew jokes. And to add to the atrocity, the whole act was punctuated by MacFarlane's absurd preoccupation with whether or not he was a good host, which—as mentioned—he clearly was not. So perhaps he was right in asking "what did you expect?"

CNN certainly was the only one covering the plight of the Carnival cruise ship Triumph by land, air, and sea yesterday, but to what avail? Well thanks to CNN a mother was able to see her daughter whom she had not seen for several days (and wouldn't have anyway because said daughter was ON A CRUISE), another mother was able to speak to her indifferent son via cell phone, and several other humans were able to watch a floating toilet inch its way closer to Mobile, Alabama.

Praise heaven for CNN.

Here is a list of things we learned from Bill Nye "The Science Guy" on CNN this morning when he was asked to comment on the recent space debris that has been crossing paths with earth:

• Meteors and asteroids are both large rocks from space.
• There are tons more space rocks hurtling towards us we just don't know about them.
• "There is a lot of space in space."
• Don't jump off of bridges.

Here is a list of things we did not learn:

• Whether or not we will all be killed by asteroids/meteors in the very near future.

Notwithstanding, if the self-appointed "science guy" can't even tell us what the hell is going on we're probably as good as doomed.
